ENERGY CLEANING THE HEART OF MÉXICO

The Oaxaca wind farm complex consists of three wind farms (Oaxaca II, Oaxaca III and Oaxaca IV) located in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Mexico, each with a capacity of 102 MW.
Benefits to the environment:
‘Las Oaxacas’, one of the largest wind power complexes in Latin America, produces enough electricity to supply 700,000 Mexican households, avoiding the emission to the atmosphere of 670,000 tons of CO₂ per year, equivalent to the purifying effect of 33.5 million trees through photosynthesis.
A positive impact for the community:
With a view to creating a positive impact on the territory, ACCIONA has launched a Community Investment Plan, a social programme that promotes the socioeconomic development of the area. It has already benefited more than 20,000 people.
Some of these initiatives include improvements in educational infrastructure, community education campaigns, and the protection and restoration of sites of natural interest.
