40,000 TREES TO FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE

The initiative aims to restore the land that burned down in the municipality of San Martín del Pimpollar (Ávila province) in 2009. How? By planting 40,000 trees that will absorb 7,200 tons of CO2 over 40 years.

A positive impact for the community The personnel assigned to the project come from areas at risk of depopulation, thereby creating economic activity locally linked to forest conservation as a means of supporting the agricultural sector and maintaining the productive fabric in rural areas.   • The planting area is 50 acres, equivalent to a planting density of 4,950 trees per acre.
  • Pinus sylvestris (80%), Betula alba (10%) and Sorbus aucupuria (10%) species will be planted in the affected area…
